Meet the Blanchard twins:
Rose is practical, sharp, and protective. Specialty: manta rays.
Finn is too sweet and kind for his own good. Specialty: sharks.

Rose and Finn are looking for sharks on the sea bed. When they return to their ship, the Dauphin, they make a terrible discovery: their colleague has been murdered on the ice - with a harpoon that should never have been there. Everyone else on the luxury cruise ship - the wealthy passengers, the researchers hard at work, the tight-knit crew and their strangely calm Captain - were all aboard at the time, so they are all under suspicion. Rose and Finn were the only two at sea, and they're miles from anywhere, so it's up to them to investigate.

On scientific problems, they are a brilliant team - but can the Blanchard twins solve a murder?

'Crisp and cosy . . . like
Murder She Wrote in the Arctic with sharks!!!' Kitty Murphy, author of Death in Heels

Recenzii

Death on Ice is a brilliant modern cosy, in the classic detective fiction style. Wonderfully engaging and well drawn characters, a complex plot and a highly original setting. R O Thorp's writing isn't just confident and assured, Death on Ice is pure class from start to finish. -- Ian Moore

Crisp and cosy, a murder mystery set on the Arctic ice with all the zest of Christie's Death on the Nile! It's like Murder She Wrote in the Arctic with sharks!!! -- Kitty Murphy

Fun ahoy! A zany cast of characters on an Arctic adventure make for a glittering debut. -- Orlando Murrin

With Death on Ice, Thorp serves up a gloriously silly slice of escapism. The similes pile up as high as the body count, and both are deeply satisfying. Only one mystery remains - how can something so damn cold be so damn cosy? -- Oskar Jensen

Clever, quirky and irresistibly fun, I adored my killer cruise with R O Thorp's Blanchard twins in Death on Ice. But I swear I'm never ever getting into a two-person submarine, it sounds even more terrifying than a trip to the arctic with a boatload of murder suspects! -- Jessica Bull, author of Jane Austen Investigates

Very much in the Golden Age of mystery tradition what with a painstaking investigation circumscribed within a closed, isolated environment, and with strongly etched characters, but also an added contemporary pinch of out and out humour and LGBTQ elements . . . Good, silly, old-fashioned fun. ― Crime Time

Irresistibly compelling . . . pure escapism packed full of chills, thrills, shocks and sharks . . . A murderously fun romp . . . Death on Ice is overflowing with cool, contemporary vibes, and yet retains the seductive timelessness of the murder mystery genre. . . . A gloriously wacky murder escapade with the charm of the Golden Age and the scientific sophistication of the 21st century. Scientists Rose and Finn - two very different peas from the same pod - prove to be a delightfully eccentric detective duo. ― Lancashire Post
